It's cold outside. But that doesn't stop us from having fun! We headed up to Boyne with my sister's family and my parents for a fun ski weekend. We started the weekend out at the water park, which was fun, but one day is enough. :) Grant did get to ski on Friday with Matt, but ended up on the couch with a high fever and cough for the next two days. Poor little buddy. He did break an all-time world record for most DSi playing hours though! Molly did ski school on the tiniest little ski hill and seemed to enjoy herself. And little Miss Charley kept putting on Molly's stuff saying Me Ski! Ski! Ski! So we took her out. It was hilarious. Honestly, she did about as well as Molly did. So many people were pointing and asking...how old is she?! Yeah, we are awesome parents, putting our daughter on skis at one. She is almost two ya know.

Two Reasons
Two reasons why I'm posting these pics. 1. Grant had a forensics night at school where he recited by memory a poem called "Lunch Money". It was very cute and I've got it on video. You could tell he was a bit nervous, but did an awesome job performing in front of the large crowd. 2. Grant got new glasses! Yay! He picked them out himself and I think they look great. They are lighter in color than his last pair, and I got the no glare lenses. Hooray for being able to see his eyes in pictures!
Fairy Princesses
The girls are starting to actually play together...FINALLY. I have been waiting for this for quite some time. They actually want to do things together, which I love! And they love to dress up like fairies and princesses and so on. For what seemed like weeks, Charley had to wear her tutu every day over whatever she was wearing. She calls anything related to a princesses her "Belle"...this can mean skirt or crown or princess book. She actually is more girly that I expected her to be. And Miss Molly, well, she has always been girly and would wear a princess dress every day if she could.

This is What I Do
I make cards. I don't scrapbook. I don't journal. I make cards. This is my favorite hobby outside of singing. I'm so excited to be getting my very own craft room too! More on that later. Here's a couple Valentine's cards that I made recently just to give you an idea. This is what I do for fun. :)
so this is a baby card actually, and that is actually green, not yellow...need to work on my photography skills too!

Cheese!
We had my parents and brother's family over for the Superbowl this year. And since we are such a big football family (ah, not so much)...we found other ways to spend our time, like Charley wanting to take her picture with everyone. She'd just go hop on your lap and start saying cheese until I took her picture. What a ham. It was a good half time show at least. :)
And even one with mommy!! (ps...so not fair that I got the whitey white skin...she did just get home from Cancun)

Just Dance
Our great friends the Leonards came up for a night recently and we had the chance to dance the night away. Had to post some pics because it was just so much fun watching the kids, and adults, play Just Dance on the Wii. We had a great time as always!! Love you guys!

Snow Days and the Blizzard of 2011
There have been a LOT of snow days this year. It's getting old. It's like we have forgotten how to function in this tundra we live in. We did actually have quite a blizzard that produced some major drifts and snow too deep for my kids to even play in (no short jokes please). Thanks to grkids.com we got some good ideas on how to enjoy our snow days.
Our street after said blizzard.

Winter Wonderland
Winter time here in Michigan is long...and cold...and dreary. So if the sun comes out at all, we head outside...even if it is 20 degrees. It's nice to have things to do at least in all this snow. Sledding, skiing, tubing, and hockey. And as my neighbor friends says, I go from being a golf widow to a hockey widow. Matt loves pond hockey, almost as much as he loves golf.
